Health Shouldn't Be A Battle

My Story

John Lennon said "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." Somewhere between a Master's in Special Ed, working full-time, and parenting a toddler, I fell in love with kale. The rest snowballed.

Call it crazy, call it a mid-life crisis, call it boredom ( if that was possible with a toddler), call it whatever...I followed my passion and became a Certified Holistic Health Coach.

Here's the reality. We have a national (umm, global?) epidemic. We are overfed. We are overworked, overstressed, and over-medicated. The only thing we aren't is over-nourished. Seriously, our food supply is drained of almost all nutrients...but, really, it's not about the food. In fact, it's never just about the food. (So many therapists just squealed with delight over that last statement. Sadly, I've seen most of them. If you've been following me for a while, then you know I've battled an Eating Disorder for most of my life. It took me a few years and more self-study than I care to discuss to finally come to terms with food. It's not the enemy. It's the only thing that can heal us from the inside out. Well, food and love...and breathing. Breathing is always important!)

As a Health Coach and Yoga Teacher, I can be part of the solution. Sure, I'm there to guide you through the sometimes confusing and mostly overwhelming intricacies of diet and nutrition. But, it's more than that. It's about finding balance through relationships, socialization, movement, and career. It's about finding nourishment in all areas of your life. It's about tuning out the chatter and getting in touch with YOU again.

Seriously? Who doesn't want that?

I received my nutrition training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I studied a variety of dietary theories and practical lifestyle coaching methods. More recently, I integrated my passion for nutrition with my lifelong passion for yoga by becoming a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT, 200) through the teacher training program at Yoga By Robin.  With my knowledge, we co-create completely personalized actions based on your goals to move you toward your ideal vision of health within your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and resources.
